Statistics-What all do you keep track of?

I’m a numbers person, I like charts, I like to keep track of things, I create budgets (which I don’t stick to). This post over at Thuseybelle, made me think about my Excel spreadsheet that I use to track my weight loss. Seriously, it’s a bit of over kill, here is a screen capture of it (click on it to make it bigger):

I track what week I’m on, weight lost this week, total weight lost, how close I am to my goal of 1.5 lbs per week, BMI stats, where I am on the BMI, what goals I have along the way, etc. INSANE, I know. I’ve made charts somewhat similar to this in the past, but never, ever, have I made it past week 2 keeping the data. I’ve kept this data every week since I started. I have it linked to my Excel version of my Check Register, so it’s always there to update when I balance my checkbook. The only information that I don’t track on it are my measurements (note to self-add measurements to neurotic spreadsheet.) Seriously, you cant see it on here, but the spreadsheet goes all of the way to my goal weight. The items in Yellow are various things that I am excited to go to, so that I can have different goals. If I put every concert on here that I was going to this summer, the entire page would be yellow (yay for Wolf Trap in the summer!!!)

So what all do you track when it comes to Weight Loss? Please tell me ya’ll track so I don’t feel crazy lol. Tomorrow is Weigh In Day. The scale at home has been moving in the right direction, but with TOM in town, there is no flippin’ way of knowing how the WW scale will react.

On a completely different topic, who else watched The Biggest Loser last night and cried…more than once? I’m not even someone who cries very easily!

Tata for now,

  1. Wow! That’s one detailed spreadsheet. I’m a huge fan of making lists, but not so much on the numbers thing. (A true English major for you!) I think it’s great that you track this much for yourself. It allows you to see a whole picture of your weight loss journey, not just the pounds on the scale. I LOVE BL and always find myself crying when I watch it. I am really enjoying the entire cast this season. Such a huge improvement over the backstabbing from the last season (Vicki, Hebba, etc.).

  2. I’ve been keeping an excel spread sheet. I have how many weeks I have been working on me and then avg weight loss per week and projected weight loss at certain dates if I remain on track. Makes me think big time.

  3. I track daily calories, what week I’m on, pounds lost each week, and total pounds lost. I measured myself a year and a half ago, and haven’t measured since. lol I’ll measure again after I’ve lost more weight.I was totally heartbroken for Max last night on Biggest Loser. You could see in his face the pain that he was feeling. I just want him to lose weight SO bad! And the makeovers… they were awesome! Everybody looked absolutely fantastic!

  4. You are crazy with those numbers! LOL But I track to…just not as organized as yours.I have my bodybugg tracking, wii fit tracking, my 3 month food journal, this blog, and a little hand made chart on the fridge where I count down how many pounds to goal weight.I cried during BL last night too. And the impossible happened: Jillian cried too!! I didn’t know she had tear ducts! :P

  5. That spreadsheet is a thing of beauty! I currently track my food in my 3 month journal and everything else on the blog, but I’m planning on something a little more centralized and visual. I need to have it all laid out in front of me so I can see what’s what.

  6. As you can imagine based on my gadget fixation, I am also a tracker. I use The Daily Plate religiously, have my GoWear Fit site uploaded every day, and keep a Google Calendar with my daily calories, GWF burn, exercise, and weight. As for The Biggest Loser last night, I cried through most of it. I seriously felt so bad for Max when he saw his dad and brother and felt left behind. I am just a big crybaby!

  7. I had an Excel spreadsheet the first time I lost 72 pounds, very similar to yours. This time around, I use the blog to keep track of my goals. I also bought myself a thick, small notebook to journal food in, and the first several pages I left blank and fill in little goals. On the daily pages I draw pictures (basically giving myself a gold star lol). I just track weight and bmi this time. I didn’t do measurements this time. I kind of regret that, but oh well.

  8. Sometimes it is just easier to do these things in a spreadsheet, so I don’t think it is odd. I think it suits your blog title!!! :-)

  9. I can’t keep up with all of those numbers and data. They make my head spiiiiiin! I do just write down my weight and measurement in a little notebook I have.BL made me cry too. Mike’s brother just broke my heart into pieces.

  10. I track exercise and food (cal/fat/carbs) in a journal that is always at my side. As for Biggest Loser…whoa….when little brother Max came on the show, I lost it
