Sugar Free December? #WLS #SFD

Is it possible to go through the entire month of December without indulging in a single treat?  Is it possible to avoid every blasted cookie that we are tempted with?  Is it possible to pass by cubicle after cubicle after cubicle with bowls of candies?

I think it is possible.  I am going to do it to prove so.  Will it be easy? NO.  Will it be a moment by moment challenge?  You bet your ass it will be.  But if I want to hit my 100 lbs lost in 6 months goal, I have to be serious about the food I consume.  Even with the aide of Sleevie McGavin, I still have to think about what I put into my body.  Candies, cookies, etc go down way too easily.  Those sweet confections add up in the calorie department like no one’s business.  I’m not waking up at 4:50AM everyday just to undo the working out by eating a cookie an hour.

When I say Sugar Free December, I am not talking 100% sugar free.  My daily dose of greek yogurt has natural sugar in it; my protein shakes have natural sugar in them.  Those things are fine.  It’s the cakes, candies, bars, canes, pies, etc that this lady is challenging herself to go without this holiday season.

Even those things that come about once a year, those things will be here next year.  Next year, I will deal with when it comes, and I’m 150 pounds or so down on the scale.  For now, knowing that I am helping the scale to move will be worth it!

My challenge starts today.  Who is with me?  Perhaps even a modified version of #SFD?

(I now want all things sugar.  Why does that always happen, ha?!)

  1. I’m totally with you on this. It is going to be difficult, but if not now, when? I am going to allow myself one of my sister’s homemade biscotti on Christmas Day, but other than that, no sweet indulgences throughout December. We can do it!

  2. I’m with you! I completely agree with Bella…if not now when? There’s never a good time to do something you don’t REALLY want to do but know you need to do. So I am agreeing with you now that we will do what we gotta do to get where we wanna be!
